The map reads official USGS GeoJSON feeds and refreshes every five minutes.
The explorer uses the USGS FDSN service. The total is not truncated; the chart caps its sample to keep the site responsive.
The Poisson model extrapolates a past rate. It explores frequency; it does not forecast when an earthquake will happen.
For construction, insurance or emergency planning, use geological studies, official maps, local codes and qualified professionals.
